Somalis now use emojis of other countries on their social media too, like and so on. I remember when there were only flags for federal states, but now every sub-clan has one. Are the federal states not inclusive enough for these people to create flags for their clan, or do people feel insecure? I do not understand. We truly have a long way to go. Countries moved on from their feudal eras centuries ago, but in 2025 this is what Somalis are concerned with. Honestly, it is sad how other countries are competing in AI innovation and space exploration, while we can’t even agree on a shared national identity..
