That’s why I’d avoid doing business with China they intend to own you. They will own most of Africa soon...:francis:

The economy will start growing at 11% percent in 2 years and will grow at that pace for the forseable future. We're playing with fire and might end up getting burned but we're good for now

How, all djbooty depends on is it’s port to Ethiopia and now that’s being taken by neighbouring ports so explain to us how you will get the %11 growth year in year out lol.

Must be the heat messing with your brain

With blood and Iron will we reach the fatherland
Doubt it, daddy France and west won't allow Djibouti to be Chinese, especially with 10 percent of all maritime trade pass through Djibouti's waters.

The expected economic impact of the international free zone of Djibouti:
  • It is a contribution of 200 million dollars on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) or 11% of GDP in the pilot phase of exploitation of 2.4 KM2.
  • And a rise in the horizons 2035 and 2040, in its extension phase, which will bring a contribution of 2.5 billion $ to 4 billion $
11% within 2 years and it'll be a lot higher by the completion of the project in 2028. Ogaden oil and gas will be exported through our ports so we'll get a chunk of that

Assab is a decade behind in terms of port infrastructure/ railway so we're unfazed. Keep rooting for our demise tho

Yeah I dont think France will allow this either.

It's 2018, there is nothing that France offers than China don't offer but in ample amounts. China is the better trading partner and offers Djbouiti much more. What has done for Djbouiti in the past 30 years or so?

And knowing France's history they would rather cause a Djibouti civil war than let it go into a Chinese sphere of influence.

They or the americans don't care. If they did, they'd have paid off the countries debt by now.

America's back up plan is eritrea

Is all Djibouti's debt in French money? so France should be okay with it
Eritrea? since when?

The economist :susp:

Frankly it took me years to see it but they are agenda driven.

Djibouti will be fine
It will probably be the most prosperous in the Horn on a per capita basis.

China already helped contruct largest Free trade zone in Africa, rail & road connectivity with inland markets.

If the rumours are true Djibouti will be energy independent with green sustainable geothermal power from Lake Asal with the experts Iceland on board.

The west is just pissed that this nation is on the right track
