What type of Hawiye? Surely they’d be called by Hawiye rather than Reer Xamar?

They are both Hawiye and Reer Xamar, the same way others are Reer Xamar with roots from a specific Yemeni tribe for example. I can only speak for my own clan Sabdi which has a branch called Ibrahim who lived in Baraawe, Mogadishu etc for centuries and still do. They also live in iimey Ethiopia as Xeyle Ibrahim. When I’m talking about cadcads, I’m talking about the ones who are of Asiatic origins that don’t belong to native Somali clans. A Gibil madow Hawiye is simply a Banadiri who is Hawiye.

Xamar is deffo the most diverse place ever in Somalia and the only places that compete is Merca or Barawa. Definitely more diverse than any backwater toolo you’re from.

The bantus I'm talking about aren't part of jàreerweyn which is a political alliance. Infact none of the coastal bantus are part of jàreerweyn .
