The case for the Arabnes of Somalia

So? Maybe you should accustom yourself with Dadka Soomaaliyeed, go to Somalia and ask them "Ma waxaad tahay Deghace?"
I literally lived in Djibouti and the Arabs were clearly distinct and considered different by us Somali.

A political organisation like the arab league was just that, a political move by the young Somali Republic to get allies. That's why 3 years later the chief states in the arab union would show support to Siad Barre when the communist world shunned Somalia.
Somali republic was eligible to join the organization since the independence as we were part of the Arab world but the civilian administrations didn't submit their request to join it until the junta came in.

Walking through the Sahara desert and swimming across the Mediterranean sea just for French 😻 is a different level of bunny hopping.
Thats was the whole reason of the bantu expansion.

they were looking for other women.

Official languages in Djibouti is Arabic and French not Somali or af Canfari you can just see your family legal papers written in french and the court conducting in French language or Arabic kkk :ftw9nwa:
Arabic should be the sole official language of Djibouti and French should be eradicated.

Arabic should serve as the common language between Somalis, Afars and Arabians. I'm impressed with how many Djiboutian Somalis can speak Arabic.

Official language is just language used by government. Our national language is Somali and Afar.

The only reason it's not Somali is because afar always complain about Issa/Somali domination in the country. This has sadly been entertained by the dictator who relegate Somali to national language to appease his afar subjects.

Nah the political elite didn't have the time to change everything or translate all legal stuff into either of the languages so they maintained the French and upgraded Arabic into official language first day after independence

No need to trash the Arabs or Arabic. It’s a nice language and our language is 30-40% Arabic.

Whats even worse is pan Africanism. Or even worse than that, Cushitic. We should be on good terms with Arabs without bootyclapping or larping. We should be on good terms with all nations and not worry so much about identity.

It’s embarrassing when the anti-Arabs talk in Somali and they end up speaking a lot of Arabic words.

The biggest mistake of Siad Barre was not purging the likes of you instead of bombing some random shiekhs and isaaqs.
The bombing of Isaqs was wrong for sure but the sheikhs were engaged in a mutiny and trying to establish a parallel government. They were trying to rile the masses against the government, which is wrong. They absolutely had it coming.

There’s nothing wrong with Arabic. Say one sentence in Somali without using Arabic. Stop this inferiority complex and lashing out. Arabic is better than ooga and buuq and walaal πŸ˜‚

Somalia - like other Arab-African countries - is characterized by its dual identity(African & Arab). And despite some shortcomings like Somalis not speaking the Arabic language, there are still other elements that strengthen Somalia's claim to Arabnes.

1. Geographical position: It is one of the most important foundations on which Somalia's claim to Arabism is based. It is located in the prominent part of East Africa known as the Horn of Africa, and the site has great geopolitical importance. On top of religious and socio-economical similarities between the people of Somalia and the Middle East, the Somali peninsulas' terrain, Flora and fauna can also be said to be closer to that of the Middle East compared to other parts of tropical Africa.

2. Shared history: The common history that Somalis and Arabs have shared throughout history, the same hopes and pains created by the geographical location, and the single destiny that brings them together represent a major component of it's Arabism. Somalis and other Arabs have engaged in many struggles together in history. How can we forget the Arabs' contribution to the Conquest of Abyssinia(futh Al Habasha), bringing many troops and firearms which were new to Africa at that time?

3. The cultural factor: The existence of a common culture that brings together Somalis and Arabs is one of the most important reasons why Somalia was accepted to join the Arab League in 1974. Islam, the Arabic language, and customs and traditions represent the most important elements of Arab culture in Somalia. Islam, which all Somalis and Arabs embrace, unites the faith and message carried by both parties. The Arabic language, rooted in Somali culture, helps Somalis interact with their Arab brothers and the shared common customs and traditions like nomadism Create a single feeling and belonging.

The Somali people view Arabism and Islam as two sides of the same coin and consider the Arabic language a sacred language, and their Ethiopian Christian neighbors also consider Islam and Arabism to be one thing. The Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie expressed this when he said, "I have drawn up a thirteen-year plan to eliminate Arab influence,” he meant thus, the presence of Islam in Abyssinia.

With all that being and most Somalis at present and historically considering Arabs their kin it can't be ignored how the massive migration of Somalis to various regions of the world since the civil war has deepened the problems of identity - including
the Arabism of Somalia - because of the new cultures that Somali immigrants have acquired in the West and neighboring African countries.
Shut up dude my goodness. We arent arab. Chadians are more arab than us

Main language of what? Somalia spoke Somali is that hard for you to understand? The scholars wrote in Arabic yes but it was a secondary language to them. All over western Europe till the 1800s they still learned Latin in schools so what?

Even for those wadaads af Somali was their native and primary language.
