Pan-Arabism is dead, the Turks have moved on, the Syrians have moved on, The Iranians have moved, the Yemenis have moved on, and so on.

For now it's every man/nation for themselves, besides, how you asking us to unite with the Middle East when they can't even unite with themselves? You're telling me an Arab wants to listen to and accommodate a Somali, literally amongst the lowest group of people in the world, when Somalis directly contribute to the worst of the Ummah PR relations (failed State, FGM, killing minorities etc.), you wanna help the Ummah? Help yourself first, most Arabs think lowly of you, wexee kuu maleyaan inaa dhad urtiin baah iska tihiin bisinka.
What hope do we have when even Dir aren't united

Even though I'm a non-muslim, I don't grovel.
There is no bigger grovel for a Somali than leaving Islam. A Somali gaal is an oxymoron. That's why your community members call themselves ex-Somalis and separate themselves from the Somalis who despise them. You're an odd individual. What are you doing here anyway? Why not join your people misfit?

Yall gonna ruin the bridges our ancestors built for us in favor of pan africa b.s

These maadows have forced u to hate on the only group of ppl ur aabo and hooyo associate with..

Islam and arabism is an oxymoron as well no? Don't forget these pan arabists wanted a secular Arab state and the erasure of indigenous communities like the assyrians, berbers ect.

If Somali were to unite it would be with all Muslims. In what world would people in Somalia want to join with Arab countries.

Why you diaspora kids so obsessed of making Arab topic threads every now and then?? if you're so much interested in it then write it in Arabic next time you guys make another thread about it :comeon:

Who brought pan africa into this. Those people actively hate on Somalis and Horners because we look "mixed" to them Bantus. Look at any video of our history with these Africans commenting. Especially the Kenyans.

Our people never associated with Arabs are you stupid. My parents grew UK in Djibouti, along side these Yemeni migrants who lived here. They were always viewed as foreigners. We did not associate with them more than we associated with Afars and such.

The only thing somalis share with arabs is Islam. Somalis have been indigenous inhabitants of the Horn of Africa for the last 7000 years while arab ethnicity started 4000yrs ago

I noticed a lot of sensitivity around the Arab topic. As long as you are sensitive to something, then it has power over you.

Arabness is not a race but a language and nomadic desert culture. Modern Arabs are not a continuation of the ancient Arabs. Sure many are descendants of them, but they are also different due to Islam and massive population movements across the region.

I would suggest to young Somalis to not be so sensitive. It just reeks of inferiority complex, whether you are a ana Arab or a staunch anti Arab.

Since Gemal Abdulnassir was a popular figure in Somalia in the 60s I would have initiated a bloodless Nasserite coup in 1969 if I were alive during that time and been a general in the armed forces with this flag being the new one in my versioned new state or regime in Somalia :stevej:

Maybe you should accustom yourself with history. In 1974 Somalia joined Jaamacadda Carabta, a league founded by secular Arab leaders and created to advance Arab interests which Somalis thought aligns with their interests.

I'm against secular Arab nationalists.

It's not dead. Furthermore, Iranians and Turks were never Arabs to begin with. As for Yemenis, they are the most ardent supporters of Pan-Arabism and historically were the ones to spread Islam and the Arab identity to create the Arab World.

Arabic is an official language in Somalia and Djibouti, it's only matter of time until every Somali can speak Arabic as the education system improves and our culture is also heavily Arab.

So? Maybe you should accustom yourself with Dadka Soomaaliyeed, go to Somalia and ask them "Ma waxaad tahay Deghace?"
I literally lived in Djibouti and the Arabs were clearly distinct and considered different by us Somali.

A political organisation like the arab league was just that, a political move by the young Somali Republic to get allies. That's why 3 years later the chief states in the arab union would show support to Siad Barre when the communist world shunned Somalia.

Arab league was founded in 1945 by Saudi Arabia Kingdom of Egypt TransJordan the Hashimate Kingdom of Iraq the Mutawakilite Kingdom of Yemen Lebanon and Syria. Not single of them were secular Arab nationalists during that time.

I have no disdain for Arabs. You should know about "Djibouti and it's culture" because we are just an extention of northern Somalia. A straight line changes nothing.

"Quit forcing us out" cry harder
