Surre community say they will support SL

Sayid Mohamed Abdulle Hassan (AUN) used say - "Yamyam iyo qadaad-weyn baa la iiga taag waayey". What can Surre do to us? We defeated 12,000 Somaliland army. Small clans like Surre can't make any difference.

His people live all over PL literally mudug Nugaal bari even Sanaag they should be neutral tbh
There was a user here who is from the surre in pl he told me they have no connection or support for sl and that surre sub clans operate independently and go for their own interest every where they are. He said this surre are the ones that live in galgaduud in the middle of hg and mareexan. Their. Main rivals are looboge , sacad, saleban and reer diini.

I think the ones in galmudug are the most numerous group but it makes sense every group will have subclan divisions

Surre and southern Dir clans including the ones in Ethiopia used to be members of SNM where in the late 80s their faction within the movement Southern Somali National Movement (SSNM) split from the main movement and became an independent armed organization with its own leadership.

Ssnm was not in galmudug or even the south it was a jabhad that was created by the Dir yar yar in somali galbeed. They never set foot in Somalia. Eventually they were wiped out by the Cawlyahan ogaadeen because most of the fight took place in afdheer somali galbeed.

I was just going to write this. They were part of SNM so it's not surprising at all.

SSNM was a faction within the SNM and fought against the Kacaan in the north before splitting up and fighting alongside USC in central and southern regions of Somalia in late 80s and early 90s

They fought in the south and even helped Caydiid forces on capturing Kismayo during the civil wars

In May 1992 the Somali Liberation Army (SLA), a military alliance formed by Aideed's USC faction with Omar Jess' SPM faction, the SDM and the Southern Somali National Movement (SSNM), captured Kismayo, which had been held by the SNF with General Gabeeyow's SPM faction and the SSDF.
