Should somalis care about Israel vs Palestine conflict?

Most Somali people I know support Palestine and are quite involved with the boycotting of israel however i noticed a lot of madow people (whether muslim or not) don't really get involved in the dialogue around it. Im just curious to see id there are any somalis whose opinions differ.

Here is how I see it I feel that what is happening to the Palestinians is wrong, and they are being oppressed. If asked about the situation, I would repeat that sentiment. However, what I won't do is protest at my college or bring this issue unprompted to my place of work. What Somalis need to understand is that Arabs would not be showing similar effort as Somalis if the roles were reversed. So, my opposition to this oppression ends in my opinion when asked, and the dua I make for the Muslimeen when I do so.

Or are we just making assumptions and generalisations.
