I heard from this guy the 3G road will happen either as 'dirt road' first done by Wadaagsan while PL govt focuses on securing funding for the asphalt phase through 'private shareholders' on 50/50 ownership basis or PL govt may increase priority level for 3G to the world bank, either way, it's going to be developed no matter what, the only question is what funding model will be used.




This road must be paved, in-fact it requires 'strong' concrete base in my opinion, becuz the vehicles using the road will not be just normal cars but big heavy trucks. It should also be an all-weather road so it needs 'drainage' so it's operational and not closed off during wet season.

A gravel road in the interim is a sound strategy. Gravel pavements are strong enough to handle freight and heavy cargo. They just require frequent maintenance (maintenance grading etc).

Perhaps its better if they construct the road in sections (with asphalt and everything) using the design they have, and fixing the existing as they secure the funds.

The best news from all of this is that they have purchased all the plant they need to construct the road (graders, dozers, trucks etc.).

Yes it is built by the Puntland Gov along with ADBank (Dhahar - Sheerbi (35KM) Dhahar - Xingalool (20KM) I believe it was first laid by former president Abdiweli Gaas, but was not constructed for whatever reason
