The truth is that there no bullet proof policy against Israel. In essence, Israel equals: USA, EU, and Muslim states who cooperate with Israel economically and politically.
Iran is the only country which has tried to counter Israel influence and they have suffered serious consequences.
A salafi coup is nonsense. Salafis are bad at politics and too divided to take over Egypt. Just look at their shit show in Libya.

But the nostalgia does get somehwat exaggerated but thats only because of the brutality that followed after siad barre was overthrown. Kacaan was far from perfect but they were infinitely better than what came before and after hence why so many Somalis talk about Barre. Its kind of like how Iraqis or Libyans view Saddam or Gaddafi.
From 1970-1985 Somalia was doing pretty well. Obviously the IMF stuff later on hurt Somalia a lot but it was still stable and developing. In any case, you need only to compare Somalia's GDP per capita in the 70s to today and see it is far better. FGS recieves billions today and they can't even raise the wealth of the average Somali to at least match what we had 50 years ago.
