I don't think Deni will listen to them and he definitely wants to finish 1m1v process, and Aaranjaan will not accept that, so Deni will have to fight them to get his way. on the other hand the isimos still didn't meet and couldn't agree with each other. In the next weeks we will see if the parliament changes the constitution.

He can do another trick where Ciise Maxamuud & Dhulbahante MP's are selected by isimo, since Sool is in a war and AJ can disturb Nugaal elections, so 17+5 will be selected and the other 44 MP's will be elected in 1m1v model.

It’s contradictory, they’re playing politics. Don’t open constitution but also have changes to electoral parties and this is now PL presidential election should happen. Also no election past Jan8.

They’re stalling for Deni to show his cards first (most believe he doesn’t have time for a 1m1v presidential election and will go for an extension to finish democratisation)

Actually it's a sensible solution, continue the democratization process and also let the opposition who don't have parties to participate in the process.

I like this. Limiting the parties is not good for the long run. Having multiple parties is more dynamic but also good the reigning party as they will have more ways to manoeuvre. Limited parties can lead to stagnation.

we had too many parties in the 60s. You just had political parties running as fronts for qabiil. Post election everyone left their party to join the ruling party and get positions.

We need to force people/major qabiils to join together in big tent parties.

That’s my take. They are putting the onus on Deni though in their letter to come out with his plans. (Likely extension needed)
