If there was enough woman for every man to have multiple, and they were mature enough to have multiple wives, and had the ability and energy to exercise it, I would say 75% of men would

I disagree alot of women do not enter polgyny because they need money. If that was the only reason there would be no men who arent rich who have multiple wives, but that is not the case,

it had nothing to do with vegetables and everything to do with private property. Once men started to amass wealth for themselves, men started to fight intensively for resources which resulted in deaths of young men, some men being too poor and women having no choice but to be with the most wealthiest.

It is for that reason the Ancient Romans banned polygamous marriages. The west believes in monogamous marriages not because of Christianity but because Romans banning due to fears of rebellious men and violence.

You’ll probably reduce my point to vegetables as you don’t like to engage with people and simply reply to respond rather than understand and take information. Anyways, humans existed for at least 50 million, whilst supposedly we’ve only been polygamous for ten thousand.

I feel like the reason woman cheat and the reason men cheat are abit different but then again I could be wrong.
I feel like with one good husband a woman would never think about being with another man
(if she is a good woman)
but if a man had a good wife he would stilll think about being with another woman(even if he is the best of men)

No where in history did the human psyche change? our bodies and natural inclinations have always been the same. Our conditions only changed.

The early generations had to be monogamous by necessity. There weren’t hella women around. That doesn’t mean we’re monogamous by nature.

Hunter gatherers didn’t have any wealth, elites, or hierarchies. Everyone was equal. Men didn’t have much of an advantage over each other. One man couldn’t monopolise power. This meant that monogamy was the standard.

I simply have issues with labeling it as ‘nature’ because when you do that, you’re also indirectly labeling monogamy as unnatural, which is false. Usually, this is the argument a lot of Muslim men are falling into which is basically Western pseudoscience and goes against the fact that throughout history, polygamy has always only been for a select few. Something that can only be practiced by less than 5% can never be the norm.
