I already answered, walaashay. It's not true. Men were not promiscuous for like 99% of human history. During the paleolithic they clearly were quite monogamous. In fact, even a lot of farmer groups tend to have a fair amount of Y-DNA diversity vs mtDNA. It's often pastoral and pastoral descended peoples like Northern Europeans who have this high bias toward a handful of male lineages and whose ancestors were likely polygamous. Basically, human men only become polygamous given certain cultural and material circumstances that didn't even exist until about 10,000 years ago.
