Macawiis is not Somali culture!! It's Asian peasant clothing

First of all, Dhaanto is Somali in origin and if you know Habesha dances, they shake their shoulders so we didn't copy anything from them.

Secondly, The hat worn in Oman is generally worn by Muslims like in Mali and Turkey.

Do you have any evidence that the macawiis is south asian in origin? Even if it is then it's still apart of our culture. We worn it for hundreds of years.

Macawiis and Koofi is as Somali as it is south asian and others. Don't be so fixated over something insignificant like macawiis and the koofi.

It could have been worse, in Uganda their traditional male attire is a combination of the Arab thobe and the British suit jacket (even by the Christian tribes). It is seen as traditional there.

I can’t remember the last time I wore that South Asian garment.

Sadly this is a long list of beg culture we have adopted. This includes foreign Arab names, traditions, loan words etc I can go on all day.
