I wouldn't say so. Somali "racism" is harmless. I know a Saudi pharmacist who worked in Puntland who got fed up with the racism he experienced from Somalis.

Ask any Arab who lived in Somaliweyn for a long time, almost all of them have experienced anti-Arab racism.

I've noticed Somali fobs are kinda like what you encounter with some East and Southeast Asian communities. No one is hateful or mean but they oggle you and treat you like you're some sort of spectacle or sideshow. "Look at his small eyes! Wow! Speak Japanese! Speak Japanese! Let me take picture with you, Mr Indhoyar!" is basically what you're in for.

Most white Western Europeans are less racist than Somalis.

It is very taboo in their culture to be so bluntly racist, but just look at that video above where they laugh about calling a Chinese guy small eyes in a Somali restaurant.

This would never happen in a group of French people with one Chinese guy among them.

Cos PC Culture has gone mainstream in Western societies.

However, in Britain anyway, working class folk do not always mince their words, especially in relaxed social interactions.

I even saw a white woman doing her morning runs in Juba and was absolutely floored by that.

Yeah, traditional old school Somalis did not actually hold Arabs in any high esteem. When you read accounts from the 19th or early 20th century the general view towards Arabs was not positive, even despite the Banu Hashim claims everywhere. The view towards Indians was even worse:

Since when have geeljires admired Indian features? My mother always appreciated Indian looks but she went to university there and also lived in Pakistan for a while so she's biased. Whenever I think of other Somalis' opinions on reer timo jileec I think back to this 1800s quote:

I think it's a matter of resentment; people back in Africa have an unrealistic view of life in the West and behave as though they would be more deserving than those currently in the diaspora.

Economics is also an issue.

Some people from the diaspora tend to push people out of the market.

People don't even need to speak to you to ascertain that you came from the 'land of white'; the way you walk and carry yourself will give you away.
