You need to envision a Somali peninsula where no war happened . Prosperity and more green areas thanks to greater economy. Most wildebeests fled Somali territories but I believe it's still possible to have had a big migration too.

And imagined if Somalia never plunged into anarchy or war. Could Af Somali have been used for Lion King. I have a feeling it would've been Somali then. I mean climate and scene could have easily been Somali peninsula. Animals too all found in Somali territory even the Giraffe is a Somali Giraffe. Lions especially. Wa lakin because of instability most animals fled. First Lion King appeared 1994 when Somalis became biggest xaar on earth. I mean why use language of xaar people. Then people saw Somalis not for their animals tranquility and wild life anymore but for drought and famine and war.

Although Swahili Lion King is superb if a Somali Lion King would be on par we never know now would we.

Look up Afar or Rendille audio clips. Those two languages are phonologically quite close to Somali.

Missionaries often translate that Jesus movie into every damn language.

People told me Aff Soomali sounds like a mix of Hindi and Arabic when I blast Somali music. Not one dude thought it was Sub Sharan African, they were shocked when I told them it was Somali. They legit thought I was listening to Bollywood music.

That's Somali music sxb when it's spoken then sounds like Sub Saharan Gibberish ask anyone I asked my Turk friends. They say sounds African. Somali music is different story you have many genres. The pop one with qumayo screaming sounds Hindi.

Even when I speak it people say it does not sound African. Hell, one when I was at my local barber, I spoke Soomali and the Arab worked thought I was speaking a dialect of Arabic lol.

My moroccan and West african friends always think I am speaking some sort of Arabic dialect. Also Somali has lots of Arabic words so it makes sense. Just look at the days of the week. The influence was too strong.

Yes Moroccan and West African you are right of course.to them sounds Arabic wa lakin ask a Turk or European and they would say sounds like African gibberish.
