What you don’t seem to understand is the SFG’s signature is a matter of formality for most international organisations. It’s in the interest of your government not to abuse the international recognition it was gifted, because if it is seen tthe be doing so by the international community, it may lose it.

If that is all it took to be a real authority, Somalia would not be the mess it is today, since it has foreign recognition, conversely Somaliland would not be this strong, since it has no foreign recognition.

Here is your reality check:

Somaliland has real authority on the ground, the president controls the land. Somalia does not.

Somaliland is free from foreign control, Somalia is not.

Somaliland’s President is chosen by the people, Somalia’s President is selected by a small number of elders in a bunker.

If we put recognition aside, which of the two resemble a real state?
