No coast, no fertile land and your only two borders are with two hostile states. An Agazian state however is much more beneficial for them. This state is more viable and Tigrinya speakers would demographically dominate. This is essentially “Abay Tigray” (Greater Tigray). One only needs to look at the 1976 TPLF manifesto to see this has been their plan all along
