I've heard this argument over and over again. People are always bringing up how the top 1% pay for 37% of taxes, but then they don't realize that the top 1% also own 38% of the wealth. That's just stupid. I'm not saying that the richest 1% are all tax evading criminals (Which I'm sure some of them are). But the fact that 1% owns 38% of the wealth just shows how broken the system is. That said I wouldn't mind being a billionaire. I hate billionaires until I'm a billionaire.

If i was a doctor making 500k a year a bit high I know but it would take me just 2000 years to get a billion. The difference is astronomical and the example poor.

There's a difference between working for your money and scamming and hoarding your money. I'm not asking for handouts, I don't need it. I'm saying 1 percent of the population shouldn't have 40% of the wealth... @Jimmer @Strike6times unless you guys are billionaires then you guys are idiots for siding with them. I'm not saying billionaires shouldn't exist, I would love being a billionaire. If you read my other post you would know that. But I know that for now, as long as I'm not a billionaire, it's in my best interest to bring them down. The system is set up so that anyone not born under a well-off family has less than a 1% chance of making it big whereas someone from a rich household will have a much higher chance. Unlike you I don't want to take my chances at the slim chance I can be rich for life. I'd try and raise my chances and if that means that I have to bring down what I want to become then so be it. Story short: Siding and bootlicking billionaires has nothing to gain from, whereas you have everything to gain from in the contrary

exactly my point, there have been hundreds of rich people who started off poor. But there have also been millions of poor people who got nowhere. Do the math, what are the chances your hardwork will take you to be a billionaire? Most likely you'll live a regular life (nothing wrong with that). But don't act like it's easy to make it big just because a few have, there have been 100 times more people who couldn't make it big

I know people much smarter than me who are not in the position I am in and people much dumber than me in a much better position. Success is much more than hard work or smarts.
