But who cares? Isaaqs/Landers are citizens of Somalia, their business directly benefits those cities. It shatters the idea that Somalia and Somaliland are economically disconnected

The dahab tower was built by the dahabshiil branch in banaadir which is Hawiye. Only isaaq thing about the building is the name they didnt spend one penny on the project. The building is owned by Hawiye.
But yes i agree we are economically connected and that we do benefit from each other despite people saying otherwise.

Sadly Somaliweyn is a myth and I don’t see it happening any time soon. Somalis hate each other too much. Even if an amazing president was to come about, the rest of the Somalis would hate him simply because he’s not of their clan. If you’re not one of their own, they will rubbish everything you do and if you’re a terrible president, they’ll big you up since you’re one of their clansmen. Maybe the only way forward is if every major qabil becomes their own country? I’m beginning to see where people like @Garaad Awal are coming from. The small qabils can live with those of the major Qabils they live with and they’ll behave because they have no choice.
Unfortunately, based on my observations, our people as an ethnic group are hateful towards each other. The only time they understand to unite is when they’re an ethnic minority which is why they do well in Kenya and other African countries since they’re smart enough to band together regardless of qabil when foreigner are the majority. But when Somalis are all together it’s chaos. The mentality of the Somali is disastrous for any state building. There is a reason for why a millennia we’ve never had a proper united nation. Forget all Somalis, all of the South was never united. All
Of the North was never united or all central Somalia was never united.
I hope things change in the next few yrs.

They have their own unique language, distinct culture and identity and genetically they’re a lot different than mainland Yemenis and have higher amounts of SSA,iranic+dravidian dna and are distinct from the Yemeni Arab identity. They don’t need to be Somali to be a part of greater Somalia, it just makes sense logically to contest the island and its massive eez zone which infringes on the most productive part of our fucking coastline. It’s also a low IQ point. Most of us have mothers, grandmother or great of different clans. Somalis historically will fight other clans and then exchange women with clans near them. We are literally one of the most homogeneous ethnic group in whole world.
Oh and as for Hawiyes, Niko isn’t their dhaqan. It’s a Somali Bantu daqan adopted by those that live in the Banadir region. You won’t catch a HG that lives in Galmudug or South of Mudug doing Niko, they’d think it’s as foreign as a Darood seeing Niko. It’s the same as an Abgaal living in Hiran.

This simply isn't realistic at all, don't listen to qabilists. Not only is it impossible to properly demarcate ill defined clan borders, but these hypothetical qabil states would be economically unviable and would quickly collapse under the weight of their poverty. The likes of Somaliland and Puntland already beef over borders, the south would be an even bigger mess of border related conflicts since its far more clan diverse than the north is. Not to mention the existence of Al-Shabab put a wrench on any idea of Somalia balkanizing.
Somalis all agreed to form a state back in 1960, and it is here to stay. No one in the international community would ever agree to a homogenous group like Somalis getting 7+ countries that each have their own vote in the UN all because of some esoteric clan related issues when groups like the Kurds and Biafra can't get one.
If we are talking historically, this isn't true. The Adal and Ajuran sultanates both covered the north, south and western Somalia. In more recent history the ICU also comes as an obvious example.
Plenty of countries were recently formed in the past century. Kenyans were never united, Congolese were never united, even Italians and Germans weren't united until the 19th century. It doesn't mean those places shouldn't be a country, same with Somalia.

This is what I’m talking about. Mentality is sick. He is married to an Isaaq lady, has Isaaq reer Abti’s for his kids and he talks like this. This is the sick mentality found amongst our people. During the war kids that had the same grandparents via maternal lines were slaughtering each other for being different tribes despite being closer relations than their actual clans men. I’ve had aunts who couldn’t even trust some of their family members with their kids since their kids were of a different qabil that were the enemy tribe during that time period.
Since we are Somali westerners we don’t see how intense this obsession with clans are back home especially when tensions are high. As a woman who marries a different clan sometimes you can’t even trust your own uncles, cousins or even your own nephews to not harm your own kids of a different clan.

The Adal didn’t cover the whole of the North. I don’t think they covered Eastern regions of the North or Puntland and the Ajuurans didn’t cover the middle region of Somalia.
