How did you know that? From my experience Sudanis are hella chill & laid back. Make great football players.

I honestly feel closer to Sudanis than Djiboutians or Ethiopians they're on average a well behaved educated version of Somalis lol

Their women are stunning too well represented in education.

Sudanese people are laidback descent people that tend to pursue academia and their institutions in Khartoum were great.

But I will say you probably don't know very many Somalis from the looks of it. Or your circle doesn't consist of those with PhDs, MDs, M. Eng, MBAs, MScs, JDs etc. :manny: I'm older than you kids so I have been exposed to Somali professionals from a range of fields in the diaspora.

People on this forum always give me this impression that non Asian and African diaspora Somalis are mainly poor and not as educated. Would you really say this is an unfair assumption?

They ignore that there are a spectrum of Somalis from the high achievers, average, slackers and late academic bloomers. I feel like some are limited by the stereotypes they hold because they focus entirely on income disparities and criminality (via the news). And perhaps some of them don't get exposure to certain types of Somalis even though they are accessible on LinkedIn.

Somalis are clearly not the brightest

Assumptions are conceived from observed reality. Somalis came mostly as refugees to the west while Sudanis are mainly economical migrants so off course they'll fare better that has nothing to do with nationalities but circumstances.

You said it yourself they have better education institutions.

When was the last time you heard of a Sudani coming to study in Somalia?

Why would they? They have great institutions that followed the British curriculum. And were generous in accepting so many Somali students to study in Sudan. Somalia did not have a university until the 60s and has been war torn since the early 90s.

Most of my father and mother's cohorts studied in Europe and the Americas and were international students well prior to the war but this is obviously a small segment. One would have to have access for this.

However the diaspora has produced many professionals among generation 1.5/2.0 which were able to take advantage of educational opportunities that might have been previously denied back home. One ought to count their blessings that we live in a time with the most formally educated Somali group in history.

I don't see as many Sudanese students abroad. I can count them. They are family oriented which is great and divorces are rare amongst them. They also encourage their girls academically backhome. Somalis did not do this wholesale inspite of education being more accessible during the Barre era (bear in mind there wasn't mandatory attendance). Only some families were invested in their daughters education and had the resources to send them to university in Somalia or abroad.

Right now, I do see Somali girls at Ivy leagues and in the STEM disciplines. I will say from personal experience I've come across many over achieving Xalimos (here in the west) so I don't get your point. At this stage there is a sizeable educated class of Somalis that were foreign born or raised. I suppose that could be one unintended advantage of having a large diaspora.

MashaAllah Sudanis are just educated people with akhlaq and thats both the men and women. I can't believe the guy was raised in a Muslim household. Even the most saqajaan have more respect than him. He was trending on twitter once as he was giving tips on how to manipulate women into sex. I really feel for his family.

Also, lol Djiboutians are Somali.

I always assumed they were perhaps a minority but I must admit I do have several well-educated relatives in the west. Bachelors, Masters, PHDs and so forth. But in the Khaleej it's fairly common to be this educated as the families here are well-off and economic migrants rather than refugees. Despite all their "We are fellow Arabs" talk the Khaleejis will deport you overnight like nothing if you don't have the funds and resources for a visa so folks like my parents got here by either working or being investors/business owners.

That’s what part time work and parents are for. But a stay at home mom is better as long as she knows how to budget. Dealing with a high maintenance leech and kids at the same time must be hell.

part time work lol. With part time jobs, you cater to the business, the business does not cater to you. Most moms who work part time do so for older children. It doesn’t make financial sense for newborns-under 5

First off handing off your children to your parents is even more irresponsible. Is this even sustainable, most Somalis have 4/5 siblings with only 2 possible parents who will babysit (I know your dads won’t lol). How will they be able to take care of all their kids kids. Not to mention once you’re 55+ health issues (especially with Somali moms) make this impossible as a consistent solution. I know you aren’t going to pay these ladies so basically it’s slavery :(. Anyone who does this because they’re too cheap to provide for their wife Is hellbound.

So basically YOU want to leechnot only off your wife but also your mother and HER mother.

Bit gold diggers loooooooooool.

Anything other than the wife having a full time job won’t work in the west

I just posted how it’s impossible for a woman to have 4/5 kids AND work in the west. It’s actually financially more feasible to have one income.

Again detail how this 50/50 life can be comfortably achieved and I’ll accept that it can be done.

You either pick the daycare lifestyle (cost a lot and is stressful) where basically you both work 2 full time jobs.

OR

You provide for your wife like Allah swt intended. Cheaper and less stress for both parents and kids.

Having one income if you live in the west with the lifestyle most females want is delusional. The kids aren’t young forever, after they reach 5 she needs to go back to work.

Females with too much time on their hands become irritating. #SendThemToWork

Emphasis on lifestyle. Yes, in Islam the male is obligated to provide but in Islam providing means a living commensurate to his income and wealth. The average joe won’t be able to give you surprise gifts, a nice place and yearly vacations. You’ll have to chip in.

Maybe he should ask what his mom brought to the table when she got with her his dad. These man are so disrespectful. He says he wants someone with brains is that why men always go for naive younger women? You know to groom her? All these people are losers they’re all superficial people they dont know what they want.

walaalo it’s been proven that when a woman wants to be successful she looks at and compares herself to the most successful man, not woman.
Meaning women take their cues for men
