For Chicken in Somali do you use doro or digaag?

So, what do y'all call this? This powder thing used by many somali families. We don't use it in our house tho, but I've seen it in many somali households.

I know Digaag is derived from the Arabic word دجاج which means Chicken. I also know that doro is used by both Somalis and ethios(e.g doro wat), but northern Somalis prefer to use digaag or chicken with a bit of an accent.


I use both tho, so I can't really vote in this poll, @kickz. I just know alotta words in both waqooyi and koonfur


Dooro is censored either because it's some type of slur for Daroods or a yeast infection in Waqooyi dialect. Either way, what's there to censor? I don't get it

I used to say doro because my family are reer xamar and i was raised like that but when i came to puntland i learned the word digaag and never looked back ever since. lol doro sounds weird to me now

I have heard of accent changes but its weird how in Somali we change whole words depending on region
