The fact that he taught his son who he is and where he is from shows you that he is as Somali as anyone. His son turned out very well too

Well, I mean Somali identity has always been factored around 2 main things:
1) Clan
2) Religion

The biggest evidence for this is there are many historical figures who were born of non Somali women who were just as important as any Somali figure and were never seen as being foreign in any way shape or form. That's just fact.

In my clan alone there are many clan leaders who have mothers who are not Somali.

For example, Ugaas Shirdoon, his mother was Oromo.
Also, the current leader of my subclan, his mother is Indian.
HJ subclan mother is Xabashi. Makaahil Sacad Muse's mother is Amhara.
The former Somali Finance Minister, the Reer Nuur Samaroon guy, his mother was Arab.

There are literally hundreds of examples.
