Same story here with whites. The younger generation is better. In some ways I don't hold grudges agaisnt people who genuinely want to preserve their identity and culture. I have the same views and advocate for all things somali. As long as people get along and don't committ an injustice against others based on race, let everybody be themselves. I sure don't want to get mixed up with anybody except somalis.
I sometimes smile to myself wondering if these white folks knew how much somalis see themselves above everyone.
A coworker saw me surfing my cousin's facebook once and said what if my cousin married a white girl: I blurted out the most somali answer without realizing I was giving away myself:

The guy jumped back and looked at me like shocked. And we both laughed./ He kept telling others what i said for days embarrassing me. But I didn't care. Let that be a lesson for him. That is classic racism if a white guy said, but since I am brown and a foreigner, nobody cared.

Nobody said muslims are perfect bro. At least they have something to go by as a reminder of what expectations they should meet and by what standards they should live. They key is to grow out of ignorance, control negative harmful impulses and give up the ignorance of Tribalism like Prophet pbuh said. He said leave it alone because it stinks.
Propeht Mohamed pbuh described what is considered tribalism when he was asked by a companion if adn whether a man loving his relatives is tribalism. The prophet said No, but tribalism is when the man supports his relatives in wrong doing. Somalis practice the form of pre-islamic tribalism which did not distinguish right from wrong. They see the tribe of the other somali instead of the wrong doing and the injustice of their fellow tribesman. And that is what will always be the demise of somalis so long as they practice pre-islamic culture of Tribalism. The prophet in fact condemned this practice as Jahiliyah/Pre-islamic which means a muslim is supposed to be far above practicing this kind of emotional attachment in the face of an injustice and wrong doing being perpetrated by a fellow clansman,

"Wathila ibn Al-Asqa’ reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, is it part of tribalism that a man loves his people?” The Prophet said:
لَا وَلَكِنْ مِنَ الْعَصَبِيَّةِ أَنْ يُعِينَ الرَّجُلُ قَوْمَهُ عَلَى الظُّلْمِ
No, rather it is tribalism that he supports his people in wrongdoing.

Jundab ibn Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
مَنْ قُتِلَ تَحْتَ رَايَةٍ عِمِّيَّةٍ يَدْعُو عَصَبِيَّةً أَوْ يَنْصُرُ عَصَبِيَّةً فَقِتْلَةٌ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ
Whoever is killed under the banner of blind following, who calls to tribalism or supports tribalism, then he has died upon ignorance.
Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1850, Grade: Sahih
Three:
Jubair ibn Mut’im reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ دَعَا إِلَى عَصَبِيَّةٍ وَلَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ قَاتَلَ عَلَى عَصَبِيَّةٍ وَلَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ مَاتَ عَلَى عَصَبِيَّةٍ
He is not one of us who calls to tribalism. He is not one of us who fights for the sake of tribalism. He is not one of us who dies following the way of tribalism.
