Nah, Ethiopia only started developing since the 2000s. Before that, it was just as bad as Somalia on most metrics.

Now they are surpassing us and Eritrea.

Ethiopia was modernized by tplf, in the 90s Mogadishu and even hargeisa was better than Addis. It was literally a shithole.
good for thm, go there once a while.

How Hargeisa was better than Addis in the 90s when the former was literally reduced to rubble by the Kacaan regime?!

Ethiopia is dictating our politicians what to do, keeping us down while they progress and build first world infrastructure projects like Huge dams and humongous Airports. We should be ashamed of ourselves Wallahi.

Our untapped numerous natural resources can make us the richest nation in Africa if we equally share it. But our brains are too rigid to understand that simple concept.

everyone built his house soon after, almost, but am mainly talking about is the environment, specifically health standards and shanty parts of addis,,if you been there at the time you agree with me. am not talking about size or few tall buildings.

Dude, they have 2 or 3 decent cities that are populated by a total of maybe 1.5 million ppl, the remaining 100 mill are living in pure destitution. Ethiopia is a huge failure on all levels and is on par ( might be worse per capita) than its neighbors. Relax

live there and am not pessimistic at all, mostly whats needed is the finishing touches, things only govt can do,,the private sector actually doin more than their share,,we will be there within decade. what you should be worried about more than anthing else is corruption by big guys. I wouldn't trade for anywhere else.

The only good thing going on for Mekelle is that nicely paved road. The rest of the city is utter shite.

Yaab, the only thing we have done in Somalia, building hotels and airports, and Ethiopia beat us in it.
