Erdogan wins re-election

Istanbul shall be the determinant, and whomever pulls Istanbul wins the day.
Thus far, with 43% of votes in,
Erdoğan clinched 47.48% votes in the metropolitan whilst Kılıçdaroğlu is at 47.58%.

If Istanbul is the determinant, it potentially might cost Erdoğan. Istanbul is known for its lukewarm attitude towards Erdoğan in contrast to Kiliçdaroğlu who is seen more favourably.

Possibly.
I was also using Hatay province as a good barometer, as one of the worse hit, with a sizeable Kurdish, and Arab populations, and AKP is leading there by 10 points.

this is more than an election for the turks, whichever side they choose.

if erdogan wins again, it is the end of the old turkey forever, he will be the new founder of a more islamic oriented country with very limited civil liberties :manny::manny:

The average Turk has seen economic prosperity under Erdogan. There are two elections today, presidential and parliamentary. Parliamentary elections are not not that tight and Erdogan’s AK party will win.

The opposition learned from the many karbaashes Erdogan gave them. Now they’re not flat out secularists but try to target the conservatives in the rural area.

As for international spectators, Russia, EU and Syria are hoping for Erdogan to return. Kiricdaroglu tweeted in Russian to Putin that Turkey will sanction him, undoing the progress made by Erdogan to bring Ukraine and Putin to the negotiations table. EU is happy with Erdogan after the refugee agreement, Turkey hosts 4 million Syrian refugees.

I hope Erdogan wins so he can leave the stage under his own terms. He has achieved a lot for Turkey in specific and Muslims in general.

Unofficial results put Erdoğan ahead of his closest rival Kılıçdaroğlu, in both parliamentary, and presidential elections.

With more than 87.6% of the ballot boxes now opened, the People's Alliance candidate President Erdoğan has 50.01% of the votes to his name.

The Nation Alliance candidate, and Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kılıçdaroğlu received 44.21% of the votes in the presidential race.

the EU hates Erdogan's guts what are you talking about? only countries who prefer him are the Russians, and may be Pakistanis. he tanked their economy the last 5 years and their LIRA collapsed. his interference with the central bank and interest rates spooked investors and his only remaining supporters are the less educated rural central voters.

i do agree tho, Erdogan is the second most important man in the Turkish republic's history. he changed turkey's whole foundation, who knows there will be no opposition by next election, he may go full china.

No need to go full China when you win every election, democracy brings far more stability.

You talk as if you dont know who controls most of the global economy. It's well known that Erdoğan's Turkey has on many times stood-up to the EU and its master the US. So I don't think the lira collapsing over the last 5 years is simply due to Erdoğan's domestic economic policies. A hidden economic war is being waged on Turkey by the Western powers because of Erdoğan's Islamic viewpoints.

I wouldn't be surprised if this Kiliçdaroğlu guy wins, we see a sudden rise in foreign (primarily Western) investment in Turkey's economy. We can all guess why they support Kiliçdaroğlu over Erdoğan. Surely has nothing to do with the fact that the former is an Armenian secularist die-hard.

no the lira collapsing was due to Erdogan and have been called out by his party members. usually when the value of a currency goes down the central bank hikes the interest rates (for america, the federal reserve). instead erdogan fired the governor of the central bank one after another because they refused to lower the interest rates.

erdogan could have retired in 2018 as the most successful and beloved leader of turkey but as they said "You Either Die A Hero, Or You Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villain”

How do you say "Kiliçdaroğlu"? Seriously.

Kilitj darolu, you don’t pronounce the G.

The western media hates his guts, however he’s in good terms with EU policymakers. The made agreements regarding hosting refugees in Turkey, Erdogan has influence over Asad and made deal with him for Syrians to return to Syria in 2-4 years time.
