The economy was suffering because the federal government already paid over 2 billion dollars (100 million birr) for Tigray aid. Abiy also urged the Eritrean government to leave Tigray before the election because it looks to me that he was planing this.
2 billion dollars isn't worth 100 million birr. Since when does the birr have a stronger value then the US dollar. If 1 dollar is around 45 Birr, then 2 billion is around 90 Billion Birr. Ethiopia total budget is 13 Billion Dollars, so your telling me, Abiy spent 15.9% of his budget on Tigray Aids. But hey, this is the same guy that states "there is no hunger, but a problem". Lies. Go place cotton on someone else's eye, cause that is a lie and a half
And even if that is true, it doesn't even go to the Tigray's, but in fact to the stomach of the Eritreans.
Eritrea denies allegations of aid obstruction but Abiy government's documents suggest soldiers have been plundering food supplies, stoking fears of starvation deaths, and blocking access to Ethiopian checkpoints.

No, but PM Abiy wanted the sanctions from the US to be lifted. Why do you think he urged the Eritrean army to leave Tigray before the election?
Another lie, Eritreans didn't leave, and Abiy even stated it himself back in March that they would leave. Its June, and they are still there. He shifts the goalpost every time when the topic of Eritrean troops comes up. There isn't a "urge", and there is quite no doubt that they won't leave, if not under the name of Eritrea, then under the ENDF uniform.
This is him in March
This is him in June
"Not only Eritrean's, but Sudanese", "We won't push them out, but finalise peacefully"
