Macaan,

This isn’t something to qosol at.

If 50 families bought homes 15-20 years ago in Vancouver for 200k, they would have had a net assets of 50million dollars between 50 families.

If they sold thier homes today together they could buy half of Xamaar

Is buying China estates a good investment?

They are having some bubble shit right now.

No, I'm just saying buying a house in Toronto or Vancouver are the best places to buy a house. I wouldn't buy a house anywhere else in Canada. I'm talking about profitability and ROI. I know the prices of homes in Vancouver or Toronto.

Yes, Somalis are more religious than other Muslim groups. Not every Somali is on caydh or huddled up in government housing. Its only a few but the community always exaggerates it like hundreds of them are on caydh and are in government housing.

The Ciyal Kacaan have missed every real estate opportunity from London to Toronto and Seattle

I got slaughtered on a pre development in Calgary. Took possession when the Oil prices dropped and everything collapsed in Calgary.

The a major real estate opportunity is for Somalis is to pull money in together and flip homes.

I always wish my parents bought a home. My father AUN became religious towards the end of his life. A terminal cancer prognosis can do that to a man and refused to buy on account of riba. If he hadn’t gotten sick or died I don’t think he would have bought regardless. My paternal uncles who have been in Canada 30+ years are still renters. And not because they cannot afford to buy, they can.

I do agree with those who say Somalis are selectively religious. My father never forced hijab on my mum or us. I never spoke about the deen with us overmuch tbh. We just knew our family was Muslim and to tell people that. He let us quit dugsi cause we didn’t like it and never made us pray. I’m always shocked by these stories ex-Muslims and other Somalis share. I had/have the chillest parents alhumdillah.

It did piss me off the see all my childhood brown friends move away. When their Muslim parents bought beautiful homes in GTA. I never could understand the one hang up my parents had.

Inshallah I will be a homeowner one day. I might have to move to Ottawa or Gatineau to be able to afford something decent though.

Ps. Somalis are def not more religious than other Sunni communities in GTA! Hilarious.

I might buy sooner. My mum wants to go half on a condo or townhouse. She says she’s prepping for my future divorce. And wants to have something ready for me and her grandkids.

This is how I know you’re from the GTA.

I don’t think Somalis truly understand how important generational wealth is and leaving something behind for your kids. My parents were the same as yours, they made me go to malcaamad but it was one day and only a few hours. They were very tough on me when it came to school.

I’m from Scarborough, girl. Been here since I was seven. And yeah, my parents cared more about education than dugsi. They ill bax and reer magal people. They always told me there is no compulsion in the deen. And they legit leave it at that.

My mum doesn’t think I will take well to marriage. I am a quiet and introverted person. I spent maybe one hr a day on weekdays (2 on weekends) with my family (despite living in the same house as them). Then I need some time to be by myself to recharge. She thinks a farax will be too much booq and stimuli for me.

Leaving Islam abayoo doesn’t magically change your life overnight and it doesn’t mean because you left Islam your life will get easier.

What you need to understand is that your young and making mistakes including leaving the religion can happen to anyone.

As a Muslim, it’s sad for me to see Somalis Leave Islam because of societal pressures.

We as Somalis just have to change your “State Of Mind” not our religion.

Somalis ARE NOT poor and under privileged because of Islam, they are all casualties of a “State Of Mind” (Aqlii) that Somalis share regardless of Qabil.

I tried a relationship with one. It was too weird. We legit didn’t speak when together and never reached out to one another via technology. We never even broke up just I don’t know.

Does anyone know if highspeed rail is going to be thing in the GTA in the near future? I read an article in TorontoLife about Hamilton being a good investment property?

What’s the cheapest suburb in the GTA with cheap and accessible transportation into the city?

I am Muslim walal I’ve never left Islam. My parents were moderate Muslims who never forced the deen on me. They let me decide for myself when I wanted to wear hijab and start praying regularly.
I think parents should be instructive not dogmatic when it comes to deen. A lot of these ex-Muslims hate Islam because they hate their parents for forcing it on them.

What’s the price range in these places?
Whitby/Oshawa is white trash central. Pickering is the boonies, noh? Full of mainland Chinese fobs? Markham, possibly but I don’t like driving on the highway I have anxiety. So I’d have to look at how much GO would cost me.
Ajax, I family there is like to avoid. Will look into things, thanks abayo.

You’re right, the highway is a complete nightmare but if you want a quiet neighbourhood it’s worth it. It’s a nightmare commute going to work but living in a safer neighbourhood where you own your property is worth it. Pickering isn’t the boonies, you’re thinking Sarnia iyo Muskoka cottage country camal. :icon lol:
