How ? They have a somali mother. Plus mothers pass on the culture. Some of my aunts married non somalis,and their kids speak fluent somali and were raised in the somali culture.

Like I stated before,the mother passes her culture on to the child. You never hear west africans or asians saying a half west african or half Asian child with a wa/Asian mother isn't wa/Asian.

Somali is not a religion. It's a nationality, language and ethnicity.
If you are an ethnic Somali by ancestry you are Somali. If you aren't an ethnic Somali (major ethnic Somali clans) then you are still Somali uu citizenship, language and culture. Islam is our Deen and it's part of the somali identity but people don't magically stop being somali if they leave the religion .
Being part of the somali community in the sense of keeping a connection with other Somalis is a totally different issue.

I never said that. I was just refuting the argument that half somalis with somali mothers are foreigners. The poster I replied to was saying half somalis with somali fathers are somali but the ones with a somali maternal side are ajnabis.

There are different layers. Ethnicity, language, culture, nationality and even life experience.
For example A full Arab Yemeni born and raised in Somalia is Somali, not by ethnicity but most likely by language, culture and life experience. It's kinda like somalis in the diaspora, they can say they are swedish or British/English. It just mean they are part of that country in some ways without being ethnically English or Swedish

There are alot of mushrikeens/murtads in somalia hiding their beliefs or just don't publicize their murtadnimo.
