The most racist people I ever met were from there. Maine, in particular, has a growing population of white people who hate minorities which they believe took their jobs.

No one can be knowledgeable about Canadian politics without a good understanding of US affairs. That's the reality of Canada lol. Im a History/Poli sci major (first year) too so I think I have a pretty good idea on what Im talking about. I've been to New England (Drove through Conneticut, and Massachussetts, stayed in Auburn Maine) and the entire East coast minus Florida as well. So answer my question now are you reer UK or not?

I don't think driving by areas and occasionally interacting with the locals gjves you the authority to say if those areas are racist are not. That is reserved who have lived in or near the area. As an American with family and friends in the area, I have more knowledge and experience in this than you do.

Anything but Minnesota

Only Connecticut and Massachusetts are ahead of Minnesota in HDI. It is much cheaper than both and that imo makes it the best place to live in the US. My relatives in Europe always ask me "why don't you move to Flordia or California?" and I have to just laugh. MN is #9 in income while California is #16 and Florida is #32. They have lower paying jobs and a higher cost of living. I am actually thinking about moving to Iowa, which has an even lower cost of living and good wages.
