Isnt tuwal not english in originbut yeah we dont have a lot of italian loan words. Just some. Any english words you guys have, its 9/10 times going to be italian for us
for example you have: (somali, italian, english format)
doolsho - Dolce - Cake
Borso - Borsa - Bag
Armaajo - Armaagio - Wardrobe
Foorno - Foorno - Oven
Isbaakulo - scapulo - Unmarried
Ookiyaalo - occhiali - glasses
Suugo - suugo - sauce
Toosh- torcia - torch
Goono - goona - skirt
Barafuun - profumo - perfume
Fioro - fiora - flower
just to list a couple. We have more but not enough to affect the language. Just some words here and there

Is Northern Dialect, I would say this includs regions SL, Djibouti, K5 and PL, possibly (Mudug is 50:50). Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Weirdly you guys have some italian words in the north yet we have no english in the south. Thats extremely interesting. For you guys vast majority of the loan words are majority arabic with smaller english and minor italian.I see what you've done, you caught me off guard

We say ubax as well but i personally use fioro. In terms of toosh I think both english and italian sound similar in terms of torch and torcia if you somalify both words you get toosh
murayad for glasses makes so much sense. We say murayad is a mirror in the south and okiyaalo for glasses
icl southerners use foorno but my family say “ovenka”

The Italian most likely traveled from Xamar to North. But I am sure there is English loan words in Xamar as well, like kijin (kitchen)

Sometimes i have a laugh with southern dialect, I remember one time in college a friend new to the UK saying guri ma qabta, I was confused, I thought he was asking if I married, I said no I'm still young I will think about guurka when I am older.... He laughed and said i was asking guri ma ledahey.

a lot of the times I cant understand northern dialect if they speak fast but thats because im say wallahi. You guys have filler words like “ban” and letters like “dh” which makes the language sound posh asf. Do you guys understand southerners the way we can understand you guys?

. I understand fully, same language differences is dialect only, but sometimes I misinterpret the meaning, example, waa la so dugey. For me it says he had a massage, for southerns it's burial.

“ad” at the end of words is how we “somalised” the ة. So whenever you see it you’re probably looking at a loanword
