Many of these Arab tribes still spoke their native languages alongside Arabic as late as the 19th century. The need for a lingua franca among these tribes further entrenched Arabic. Unlike us who were mostly monolingual

It is arabic. Loaned from adeni arabic where it is "sharabat". I'm pretty sure they use "sharab" in the Levant and Egypt as well.
Somali loanwoards either come from classical arabic, usually religious concepts, or yemeni arabic (either north or south).

شرابات is also used for socks in arabic.
persian has way more loan words anyway. af somali is much less.

It's actually Arabic, it's used in yemani dialect and sometimes in Egyptian dialect. It's Arabic origin is undisputed and well known
I also noticed xamar has alot of Italian loan words. I learnt recently Shukuman, i was confused and asked whats shukuman, I am not sure if it's Italian in origin, we say Tuwal in wooqoyi.
