Usually the ones that try to divide Somalis along clan lines like what this fella here is trying to do happens to be non-Somali. Why must everything turn into clan slurs and trying to insult Somalis from other regions.

Dirac becomes popular after the mid-20th C apriori I do not recall anyone wearing it. And it came to Somalia via Djibouti as a corridor (I could be wrong). I do not remember it being worn for very long, be it in Somalia or Yemen. I'm not hung on whether the chicken came before the egg. It's evident Somalis made the dirac better and made it go from a marginal/novel garment to well-known. And most of the best textiles for it come from South and South East Asia, respectively.
Sedex qeyd and guntiino are unquestionably Somali and look more elegant. However, it also requires one to be in better shape to look nice.
