What does being Somali mean to you

And you're an atheist, a cardinal sin in Somali society. You'd be excommunicated.

    People who ridicule safe space

The left is a conglomerate of many different groups and ideologies, and can't be condensed down into just a few people protesting on a few college campuses.

    People who ridicule safe space

Agreed. Safe spaces do have their use in society, but a university is definitely not the right setting. A lecture hall should never be a safe space, as it would be opposed to everything a university stands for. Academia is the one place where no ideas should remain unexplored and where...

    Who was it?

It's a proposal, not a demand. Your Cushitic self-preserving instincts seem to kick up at the mention of half Somalis. It's for your own good too. The bantus have got you all worked up, no need to add another group in to the mix. You Somali supremacists need to lower your blood pressure.

    Who was it?

I agree with you. Half Somalis have acquired the position of AA on this site, when we need to be more like Asians. Low profile and smart, instead of loud and visible. I propose a moratorium on all threads about half Somalis.

They're shooting up schools and cinemas now. Serial killing has gone out of fashion, mass shootings is what's in right now.

    This is East London

When white people start leaving a neighbourhood en masse, it's probably a sign that that neighbourhood is going downhill. Ugly truth, but better start packing then.

Japanese in Tokyo eating Somali food

The Japanese are great people. They've been able to develop and modernize while also maintaining their own traditional culture. A lot could be learned from them.

Why do somali girls from the uk talk so ghetto

It's not just that. Social media and popculture plays an important role too. When they export AA culture, they're also exporting this condensed and commercialized generic black identity devoid of any concern for ethnic particularities that many rootless kids (poor or not poor) are eating up.

Why do somali girls from the uk talk so ghetto

You're a nice old lady. Stay away from the kids, they're a bad influence, or before you know it you'll be tossing your head and flipping your hair too.

Why do somali girls from the uk talk so ghetto

It's an epidemic. I've heard kids in Europe talk like that and put on that attitude. People learn it not just from living in poor areas, but also through social media. AA culture is being exported world-wide and the kids are eating it up.

Can anyone’s here explain communism to me.

@Jerome in the house, you've been lied to. Communism is not evil at all, though it has been used by evil people throughout history. It rather provides, as a political theory and not in practical implementation, an excellent and necessary critique of the societies we live in today and have lived...

What's your impression been of half Somalis in real life?

I have had a wonderful impression of half Somalis in real life. They're truly superb people. Nothing bad to say about them.

No such thing as a Somali philosopher

Pondering the complexities of human existence is of no use to a nomadic people unless it pertains to their labour and their survival. Islam probably provided all the existential reassurance and spiritual fulfilment they needed.

    Somali upper class subculture?

Don't worry @Shushue. Capitalism, with its emphasis on individualism above collectivism, will fix this in due time. Then you'll have your own Somali peasant class to look down on.

Somalis getting karbaashed in Kenya, documentary

Horrific yes, most definitely. Why do Africans always have to resort to violence for the things they don't understand? And towards some of the most vulnerable people in society too.

    Why are they mentioning Somalis?

Crime and corruption is rife and "their" land is about to be expropiated, so racial tensions are very high. It's no wonder they're disillusioned and angry.

    Why are they mentioning Somalis?

About Somalis too? Or just the SA blacks?
