Are going out on dates a waste of money?

The lunch wasn't free. You are spending you precious time with him. Time you can't ever get back.
And he's spending time with you likewise. I'm not trying to shame others for it, but it's that I always dislike "free" things, I guess because nothing is really free (even from family and friends I'm reluctant to accept gifts)

Even from family? Damn. All I want in return for gifts from my family is a thank you and that's only to confirm they like the gift.

Expect a man to behave the same way if not worse when you get married. If he wasn't taking care of you in the beginning don't expect him to change when you get married. A lot of women go into marriages hoping to change their partner and a lot of men go into marriage hoping their partner never changes (ex. her body to remain the same). Unfortunately both end up being disappointed in the end.
a lot of men also try to impress you in the beginning and flop after a year of marriage. if I do "date" it'll be the halal way, so no going out to restaurants. I'm not really worried about the spendiness of him. Even after marriage alx I'm self reliant.

Call me selfish but I don't like the feeling of feeling like "I owe you one"

Anyways I've derailed duke's thread long enough. I apologize @op

Nah it's all good. His thread was gonna become a" which qabil is easier to date?" thread anyway.

And usually feelings like that are tethered to trust issues, sxb. You might want to look into that. I used to feel the same and rarely asked for assistance even when I desperately needed it. It's...lonely. And not something your friends won't pick up on. Mine did.

Amazing if you are self-reliant but you can go the halal route and still put yourself on a pedestal and have him impress you. Nothing wrong with him working to impress you. You are the prize. Lol I'm throwing my feminist card out the window in this thread.

Don't worry...all Somalis who grew up in a Somali households have self-esteem issues with all the cussing and inkaar. But trust me as a Somali woman, you have millions of options of men Somali and non-Somali who would be willing to go above and beyond for you.

@Duke of Bohol no it's not a waste of money, you must whine and dine your lady, let her order the lobster tail, gold flaked desserts. :banderas:

P.s

If a man don't spend anything on you before marriage then don't expect him to spend a dime on you after marriage. :camby:

But you missed the question. If you don't intend to marry the girl there is no need to spend a lot on her in a date unless you are getting
a action.

I don't want to sound corny but some people's company is genuinely enjoyable in itself. Not to mention sleeping with hookers is kinda disgusting. :tacky:

Not all hookers are STD infected some are checked regularly and high end escorts, besides you can use protection. Yes true you can
enjoy her company but it all comes down to physical things later.

What's with people these days. Why would you let a man who's not your husband spend money on you. This is dhaqan gaaleed.

And do you not realize guarding your chastity applies to men as well?????

I am trying my best to guard it and avoid unnecessary dates. Money comes first nowadays.

I will take her to a chicken shop, max is £5 if she wants more then she must pay for her greedy ass :manny:

Smart. Women nowadays feel entitled to your money when going out on dates (thanks to hollywood
movies), so you got to becareful with your pocket.

Just let her get her own stuff and you get yours. Or are you to cheap to buy your own meals lol

Men always feel entitled after paying for your meals, just look at the OP
