I highly doubt that the self-declared state of Somaliland would get the independence that they are seeking. That much is clear and apparent to anyone who's been following Somali politics for at least a month. They are several factors that caused the potential failure of them getting their recognition, but I'll touch on it later.
Anyways, I see Somaliland as an autonomous state within Somalia. Will they be ruled from Xamar? No, definitely not, but they're certainly not going to be recognized as a separate, sovereign country; at least in the foreseeable future.

When in reality all we fight for is independence for our nation. What gives Djibouti the right of its independence but disallows Somaliland for its independence. I personally think that we should ask for reparations for the bombings and a formal apology from the southerners and we get as many MPs as darood and hawiye and then we can accept being part of Somalia again but as a confederation. What we need is an accountable government that is progressive with economic and civil reforms
and not international recognition.
International recognition won't solve the inherent issue of an incompetent government. In fact, it will make things worse and polarise the "country".The economic disparity between the East and West has to be tackled alongside the rampant cronyism and corruption within the government.To give you in context the last President Siilaanyo’s pay was 227 times more than the average income of the Somaliland citizen (source was an article on Investopedia but no longer have access as it 5 years go).
