Arabic is not suitable for the Somali languageIt looks cool, maybe it can be PL states official scirpt. I rather use Kaddare script as it is phonologically the most sound one for our language.
1. For me first would be Arabic(most practical).
2. Kaddare because it is indigenous and is most suited for the Somali language.
3. Latin.
4. Osmanya
We can make the Arabic script suitable for the Somali language it doesn't take much effort to be honest. All that is missing are certain vowels.Arabic is not suitable for the Somali language
Kaddare is too difficult to write and the script has never been used nor books published in it
and itself influenced by Osmanya
Latin is ugly alphabet tbh and does not seem write writing in our language
Why are you against the osmanya script as it very simple and easy to write in Af SoomaaliWe can make the Arabic script suitable for the Somali language it doesn't take much effort to be honest. All that is missing are certain vowels.
Kaddare is more suitable for the Somali language and easier to write all the experts agreed on those facts. Its greatest shortcoming was it was very young and was yet to enjoy nationwide recognition.

Looks quite pretty to me and I think with enough practice one can make some superb calligraphy.
I do agree that latin script is bland and boring. But I rather keep it than switch to Cismaaniya script.
Here is a cake article written in osmanya and look how simple and easy it is write in this scriptWhy are you against the osmanya script as it very simple and easy to write in Af Soomaali
Osmanya wallaho does not even resemble that stinking Ge'ez script.against it because it looks like ge'ez and no one uses it internationally
I'm against it because it is impractical. You want to push it for the same reason I like Kaddare script more. Now stop being dishonest about it.Why are you against the osmanya script as it very simple and easy to write in Af Soomaali
Majority Somalis can read the arabic script with ease. The only exception being you ciyaal say wallahi. Since when is arabic script a colonial one you knuckleheadMajority of Somalis cannot even read or speak Arabic, you know what is inferior in my eyes, speaking colonial foreign language and using their script. Yes we do gain from having our script.

How do i have a case of self hate or insecurity you dumb nacaas, as i'm proud Somali and i do not want a bastardised non Somali script to write our language.he has a severe case of insecurity and self-hate. I hate SomHoteps so much.
Actually the Somali Youth League espoused in article 5(d) of its statute the cause of the Somali language as the future language of the country, and of a Somali script - the Osmania. We donβt use Osmanya because the SYL never seriously considered it as a viable script.
Two different sources agree with thisβ¦.

It dont matter. Arabic should only be used learn the quran nothing else. Osmanya should be sole official alphabet to write in Af Soomaalihow is it a foreign script when it has been used for a thousand years to write in Somali? You seem to have an inferiority complex, the purpose of an alphabet is not ethnic pride or whatever but ease of use.

They abandoned the idea of Osmanya script after 1950s, but your statement "SYL never seriously considered the Osmanya script" is wrong.Doesnβt change the fact that they used to write in the Latin script and promoted that script when elected to government.
