My abo kept his job in my hometown, he commutes there often and it's likely he sees his friends there all the time, and my hooyo still talks to her friends on the phone. The thing is, we lived in a neighborhood full of Somalis, and my parents felt that we lacked privacy when it came to certain family matters, though a lot of other factors played a bigger role in us moving as well. So as far as they know they still maintained their friendships. And yeah, inshallah I'll be able to help them more with the payments

Seen a bunch of 2 bedroom flats for sale at decent prices below--and don't say they are tiny, every Somali who lives at home with Hoyo acts like thier bedroom is a mansion for some reason.

That's the home we bought for hooyo and it is our situation room. It is 10 min away from me

You should visit malaysia. Cheap flights around Asia and they have wicked visa to buy a home there. The USD is high and you should take your purchasing power to emerging maskiin markets. Maskiin Markets brilliant

Indeed UK Somalis are qashin but nearly everyone has been priced out of buying a home. In London a family home in zone 6 is around ~£400,000 with a 20% deposit, that's £320,000 and ~£90,000 annual income is required to buy it. That's like 7x minimum wage.

You can't really compare to the US where anyone can buy a house with a big backyard for peanuts, I mean $90K? Come on.
