Not really.
If Puntland found reserves of natural resources that were managed properly, we'd do great. In fact, we would easily inherit the best of Somalia's workforce (brain-drain from Somalia) and the world. Similar to what UAE and other similar countries are doing.
I am fantasising here, so humour me lol
I do want the best for Somalia and Somalis and all of mankind, I just don't think this toxic nation needs to be stuck together due to a concept called 'Somalinimo' that had a brief historical existence.

yeah i feel you. Somalinimo will never work. The past 30 years Proved that. I believe federalism is the way to go. Everyone do their own thing and focus on their own regions on a national level e.g health care, education project such as building roads and ports and come together as βSomaliaβ on an international level e.g the army and international politics and also national projects such as building inter state highways. May the best state win

The west will never allow there to be 5 countries in one region with just one dominant ethnic group whilst there is a country like Ethiopia where there is over 80.
Let qabyaalad perish if we want Soomalinimo to exist. Somalia that adopts loose, collegial federalism and forms a part of a broader Soomaliweyn confederation (along with SL and independent DDS) is the way forward

I canβt talk on SL as I havenβt been there nor know any information about who does the hard and gritty work. Somaliland would do better off than puntland as an independent country. Thereβs 5 million inhabitants in SL. I donβt even think thereβs 1 million in PL. but still SL wouldnβt do better as an independent country compared to being a state in somalia

Yeah thatβs a bit of an exaggeration lol. Puntland is around 2 million but thatβs still relatively small when you compare it to how big puntland is mashallah. South west state isnβt even half of PL land wise but has a population of 5 million. Even Hirshaballe which PL is 4x the size of, has a larger population of 3.7 (almost 4)million
I don't trust isaaqopedia figures, wikepedia has gone downhill since Isaaq moderators took over Somali pages and cook up their own stories and push their agendas.

Recent one. Done by a site called pl stats. Makes more sense as well. I think PL has a bigger population than galmudug. Same as hirshabelle and smaller than sws. Makes more sense as the further south you go, the greener the land and the more the population is.
