Just so you guys know I'm earlier post was sarcastic I will hopefully visit the great gardens of cal Mac w and bask in the hafun sun

When i went there the past summer, in Berbera the mayor was giving away discounted land to anyone from the diaspora. The habros went running with their papers :mjlol:

berbera is not even big town, yes its the port,,,but are you disqualifying all these beautiful buildings, businesses and busy vendors, say in Mogadishu, hargeisa, burao etc?

and the mayor don't have authority to give land unless its few plots taken from citizens.

so you're saying a land cost more than a house

It's more difficult to acquire land then to build a property. Building a house costs 40k but i can do it for 20k up to 30k. Thatst what you call good networking buddy. I just pay the asians they'll do it for cheap dunno braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap

I was in Somalia recently, you won’t believe the number of youngsters that want to leave that place.

Strangers would ask me to get them out.

There is a reason why people want to leave. It’s a hellhole.

Imagine what you could do with $100M+ in Somalia. It would be an excellent start to creating a semblance of order.

I don't see myself 'going back' for a very long time. Definitely not without substantial resources and a well-thought out plan. I have no intention of downgrading my quality of life.

Going to Somalia right now is a downgrade unless you've properly prepared.

You definitely need to have a plan when you plan on staying there. I don’t think moving to Somalia/Somaliland is a downgrade though. Of course it’s a different lifestyle, but I believe it’s less stressful compared to living in the West.

I think I would want to live over there at some point in my life. Especially because I don’t want my children to get westernized, not be able to speak their language or not know about their culture.

The question is always: what will be your source of income?

In the West atleast there is a safety net if you f*ck up.

As I said, never downgrade.

Loool @RICH you’re living in a fantasy world if you think living in Somali is less stressful. Your parents would then have left Europe for Somali a long time ago. And how is it less stressful in Somali, according to you?

That is true. Life over there is definitely chill. I spent a holiday there and it is comfortable for a Diasporan who has a bit of money. I worry about becoming bored though. No cosmopolitan comforts are to be found there.

For context, I was speaking about Somaliland. I've not seen the rest of the country.

I'd consider it seriously after achieving my goals here.

The west is in a steady decline so if you have a useful degree (anything stem) that can benefit yourself and the people and have experience in the respective field than it should be a priority.

I don't want to see people with degrees in gender studies/sociology or anything liberal arts related coming there.
You people should stay wherever you are. You are not wanted.:pacspit:
