Islam is the common point of reference.

However, what I do want to know about is Somali tea. For a long time, I have been obsessed with Yemeni tea. However, my Pakistani friend has told me that he prefers Somali tea. I have never tried Somali tea.

Insofar as Somalis agree with Islam, I agree 100% with Somalis. I love all Muslims and I do believe Muslims are one Ummah, no matter what race. That is why we pray next to each other.

However, other aspects of Somali culture... I know not much about. I think "gaal" is like kaffir. "Cadaan" is white person.

I had trouble registering on Ummah.com and I saw there were Muslims and people here who seemed to have become kaffirs. So I wanted to come here to support the Muslims.

However, I know little about Somali culture and couldn't pretend to be Somali if I wanted to. What I really want to know is what to make of Siad Barre. I do know a lot about Texas, though because I'm from there. It's not how it's depicted.

SubhanAllah. Yes, that is part of why I love Islam so much- Islam protects family values. It makes me upset to see how Western culture promotes the breaking apart of families. I am glad you have had good experiences with Mexicans. You do have some who are racist and that is true but I have been against that for a long time. I have cousins who are Puerto Rican who are black and they helped raise me and I have always been against racism towards people who are black. I saw a lot of racism growing up in Texas but even as a kid I remember being against it. Allah judges us by our taqwa.

These days, I think there's problems everywhere, in pretty much all the communities. I think Allah tests the people who He loves. Insha'Allah, Allah will test the believers until they meet Him with no sins.
