Amhara are being armed to the teeth. As I said this is going to be a war of attrition. Tigray at this moment are all fighting. Amhara are now starting to take up arms in mass. It is going to be bloody long war, it all depends on who the Oromo in the end make a deal with.

I think in the end Oromo and Amhara will make a deal which means TPLF will be destroyed. for Tigray they need a decisive and quick win which is why they are attacking amhara regions like dessie while tigray regions in the west are still in government and amhara hands. so instead of liberating west tigray they are more focused on capturing the road between Djibouti to Addis.

The longer this drags the more Oromo will question their casualties and how to resolve it. for Amhara this is win or die same for tigray. there is 30 million amhara vs 4 million tigray. It is clear the two biggest Ethnicities will sit down and make a deal it might take a month or 10 years but that is how this will end.

Amhara are asking for more arms but their own government and Abiy are refusing. They fear the Amhara masses may overthrow them. Both the Oromo and Amhara masses, if armed and organized, are threats to Abiy and his allies. Amhara already have enough arms and manpower to defend their region, but anytime they capture arms in war or etc, they are forced to hand it over to the federal army or face charges. The Amhara leaders are more concerned with maintaining their power in Amhara state and at the federal level. Same for Abiy and his Oromo wing of the prosperity party.

Oromo on the other hand, are joining the OLA in massive numbers. Huge rural areas are already under their control. If they had artillery and heavy weapons, it'd be over a lot faster. They administer large lands, bigger than Tigray, From Wallaga in the west to guji and Borana in the south. They also are beginning coordination of training and military efforts with the Gumuz near Sudan.

Oromia Police are joining them too, tired of fighting a war against their own kin. The capital is slowly being surrounded by OLA fighters. Who may eventually link with Tigrayan fighters and enter the capital city. There maybe some disgruntled Amhara who try to join the coalition of OLF, TDF, Gumuz, Sidama, etc, otherwise they'll be left out because everyone is struggling for their own people's interests.

So pretty much Ethiopia is a Cluster bomb and its bout to explode , to many players want to be king .

for the moment somalis are irrelevant in ethiopian serious politics. whatever formation that comes will not work intheir favour particularly the onlf clans. the tigray oromo alliance that comes up will either be the existing abiy and tplf crew forced into an settlement by the west or a tplf and jawahir mageressa alliance to take over. the tigres will emerge as nominal lords over the amharas while the oromos will be left to lord over the somalis and the rest

To keep amhara supremacy in check. alliances change and interests remain.

I could see the ONLF temporarily siding with TDF and OLA for realpolitik reasons to establish control over western Somalia and push for independence, two long term goals that could not be achieved under the current political framework. The negotiations over the final border and especially the final status of Harar and Diredawa would have high potential for conflict with the OLA though.
