Whats Your Personality Type

I usually get INFP-T

I’ve heard the 16 personalities are basically the horoscopes of the psychology world though.

And the test seems to give out INFP like it’s candy, three of my friends are supposedly INFP’s as well but we all have very different personalities

INFJ. I searched it up and it's apparently the rarest MBTI. Though, the test is just pseudoscience. It's not like your personality is set in stone from the moment you are born. Our personalities change over time.

It's context-dependent. People often assume various roles in life, adapting to the demands of different situations. Unlike individuals with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) who experience a fragmented sense of self and may not be fully aware of their alters, or fictional characters like the amnesic assassin Jason Bourne. We possess multiple selves with a relatively coherent/unified sense of self and some awareness of switching between them. However, we may not fully grasp how others perceive us, and our self-perception can be skewed, leading to positive or negative misjudgments. We exhibit different facets of ourselves, and our interactions with others significantly shape who we are as we co-create ourselves through these encounters.
You can grasp what a person thinks of you with reasonable insight into self-perception and carry some depth of understanding to the other individual, their character, and their values. I can read people very well but refrain from doing so because I think it is a bad practice. I only do it for functional reasons when it has serious use, but not on family or close friends beyond the norm.

I was never a fan of the Jason Bourne series. Even though the first film was particularly beloved, garnering a cult following, I found the excessive realism display and rapid dramatic camerawork too much. The film serves as an example of how a realistic display does not mean better entertainment. The sweet spot is merging the exaggerated fiction, tweaking with enhanced realism. This is besides the point though.

To answer that example of yours. It is necessary to grasp how you come off to others. Because there might be a misalignment in how you project behavior and who you think you are. That is purely an effort thing. Our relationship with ourselves and outside expressive behavior are separate processes and do not automatically line up. So, some people never calibrate their behavior without thinking about how they come off with conduct, demeanor, manner, and all traits that are perceived differently than they think. You're working against yourself at that point. Grasping that is for your own good. You're not supposed to design yourself on what people like, always. It's not a way to live, but at least make sure you present yourself as you want to, and that only comes from trying.

Anyway, this became too long for my liking.:ftw9nwa:

Like candy, you might have similar types with different flavors. Anyway, the point is not to overemphasize these things. It's hilarious when some people make it their whole personalities as if it serves as the primary lens. It's backward.

People want to know who they are. These results are self-serving proxies. Real understanding comes from going beyond the practical, and it's not always pretty. The practical has its place, but one does not need to adopt the framing since it is too one-dimensional.
