And it's not just a Somali thing, it's a human thing. Throughout every ethnicity, nation, city, neighborhood, workplace it's exactly like that.

) but everything can't revolve around banter and crude humor. On the other hand, it's often times necessary. Wallahi I have yet to meet a Somali who didn't have a good sense of humor (and it comes in many many different forms) and I think it's a way to deal with our harsh reality.
Being too serious and stern, will alienate your peers, whereas, being a goof, you'll never be able to be taken seriously or take yourself serious. Needs a proper balance, like everything else in life.
