What is somali love?

Sophisticate

It's kaftaan abayoo, you're very much appreciated and you seems to be very fun and intelligent. But this whole jeceel talks is just jokes.

But if we do cross paths and you are anything like you say you are, best believe I'd try to cuff :mjhaps: :lawd:

I figured I didn't need to whip out a retraining order. Refresh my memory. How did I describe myself? Lol

I do not recall.

I too tend to be pessimistic about Somalis and Somalia, but I consciously make an effort to try to look at what's going well and improving. I genuinely believe we as a people have a lot of beautiful things that are positive and worthwhile preserving. The qashin, naturally is gonna need to be disposed of.

You are correct walaal, which is why whenever I come across negative users with their horrible posts, I tend to ignore it. I would much rather focus on the positives like you but it would be delusional to blind yourself about the negatives. It's very much present in our community and needs to be addressed at times. Nevertheless, I still love us.

And it's not just a Somali thing, it's a human thing. Throughout every ethnicity, nation, city, neighborhood, workplace it's exactly like that.
Personally, I enjoy the fuckery (to a certain extent :whoa:) but everything can't revolve around banter and crude humor. On the other hand, it's often times necessary. Wallahi I have yet to meet a Somali who didn't have a good sense of humor (and it comes in many many different forms) and I think it's a way to deal with our harsh reality.

Being too serious and stern, will alienate your peers, whereas, being a goof, you'll never be able to be taken seriously or take yourself serious. Needs a proper balance, like everything else in life.

You're right about the balance but I was more so addressing the backwards thinking some of us possess. It's true that the rest of the world may share a portion of the problems we face but I am more focused on us than anything.

I would never want to put a plug on our banter, it's top class. But at times, it exceeds just 'banter' or 'fuckery' and becomes a threat to our livelihoods (i'm talking about back home more often). Balance is everything like you said.
