what does somalia need in order to become a 1st world nation?

I'm sorry, did you see those statistics? Close to 80% of Mexico's generated income from exports is from the United States alone; America only gets 15% of its income from Mexico in exports in return. The U.S can handle loss in Mexican revenue far lot easier than Mexico can handle loss in American revenue.

What year was that though but now that trade is cut plus most western car companies moved to mexico for cheaper labor

Somalia needs an intellectual class -- people who think rationally, independently, and can imagine and realize future potentials.

Genetically, only about 5-10% of people fall into this class. The majority of people are born to be followers, which is not such a bad thing if the rational class establishes the society's norms. Then the people will follow good norms (like in the West).

The issue is that Somalia has never had a developed intellectual class (because there was no written language, no schools and universities until post-colonialism). Many of our most promising young minds perished unrecognized in the bush---because there was no means to demonstrate their intellect and excellence. And because of this, Somali society's norms were established by the less enlightened majority. Hence the rampant tribalism, religious superstition, violence and disorder.

Eyeing all of this crap, Somalia's very limited rational class, most coming of age post-colonialism when the otherwise barbarian Somali people saw the light of civilized life (however narrowly), have taken advantage of globalization and the erosion of national borders to escape. And many have no intention of returning--because the work of reforming a backwards people is long, arduous, and often thankless. So they'd rather remain with their talents among nations where intellectual excellence is recognized and appreciated---not one were leadership, respect and support goes to the most belligerent, ignorant, and tribal.

you got the wrong country, less than 10 percent of somalis are born followers whether intelligent or as dumb as a brick(intelligent dosent equal leader) the majority of us are born leaders tbh, the problem is everyone sees himself as a leader so that may bring in the great competition we have business wise politically we probably have the most politicians with 7 current presidents in the country and 7 separate parliaments both lower and upper each containing like 60 maps each :yacadiim:
compare that to like neighboring Ethiopia and Kenya and man do they submit to authority unlike us,
were just naturally the leader type:manny:

Wait for Ethiopia, Kenya, and Dijbouti to become 1st world nations so trading with them triples our income. Diversify our economy. Deport all of the diaspora back to Somalia so the nation can make up for the brain drain it suffered for the last 20 years.

Everything else will line up from there.
somalia will be a first world nation before Ethiopia or Kenya do lol:chrisfreshhah::drakelaugh:
the future isn't really looking bright for Ethiopia, Kenya has potential but their bussiness class are all somalis and hindis :pachah1:why would we need to trade our own products from Eastleigh to Mogadishu

china isn't first world itself but a developing country

@Tukraq

To be a First World for China's make over of Somalia in it's strategic location with a carefully selected highly intelligent smaller population of 10-20 million people won't be a hard task for them. Mega cities with modern infrastructure will be built in less than a decade followed by modern agricultural, mining, fishing and high tech industries. Boom Shakalaka in 2 decades, a First world would emerge from the cemetery formerly known as Somalia.

The problem of Somalia is us, Somalis. Look what your cousin and his family are bickering about!!!

what is wrong with qabil?

The whole country is fragmented with each community focusing on their qabil rather than the Somali people as a whole. There is literally no meaningful difference among us.

Everyone isbrainwashed into believing so and so qabil is the enemy.

first world isn't about infrastructure lol otherwise UAE would be first world, also we can do that ourselves with our oil resources we don't need china building for us with massive debt and ownership of our national assets like in Kenya and Ethiopia, god blessed us with resources, having state of the art infrastructure won't be hard and we will get it in 15 years but thats not the definition of a first world country

if every one focuses on helping and building their qabil and community they inturn fix Somalia as a whole, which is why were seeing tuulos develop in ways they never have in the past which is a good thing

Who said China will build us things, they will buy Somalia. Look how we are selling now the little infrastructure we own like Ports to the Emirates so our politicians could get a cut from the deal, is it better? In exchange of selling Somalia to the Chinese, each clan will be settled far from each other in those Chinese ghost mega cities and you will never see your clan nemesis, call your zone the Republic Of Ina Odey Xaarweeyn or whatever you want.

can china even afford Somalia lol once the oil drops it may be the other way around, ill be hiring Chinese maids like the emirates do:chrisfreshhah: china should focus on their large starving extremely poor population

Aaegal

I have no proof, only whispers
The most important thing I can think of is anti-corruption laws. Somalia will go nowhere if politicians are using their position to enrich themselves and not for the betterment of the people. Should stop politicians from signing away Somali resources.

Also, no one is going to do business in Somalia if you have to bribe people to get anything done.

For a person who comes from a place like this;

Do you think you've a say?
chinas dessert are just as bad, and large swaths of their population is very broke and just as impoverished as Somalia and live on a dollar a day lol, maybe you might think chinas such a big deal due to getting dominated because you live in Australia(china bullies you guys) but over here in the US we see them as a developing country at best

The only way is for the current stalemate to end meaning full and total Balkanization, there is no patriotism in the current Somalia (I mean who can be patriotic about that thing?), allowing each state to develop their own nationalism and economy without interference from the one bedroom villa is the only hope.

Even then I doubt any Somali nation would be first world but it would be much better than the status quo.
