I am really concerned about my kids since they live in Minneapolis, the home of Austim, Walaahi if my youngest one becomes autistic I am going after the Hennepin country director of health and pay him a visit to his house.lol
Anyway the high numbers of Somali kids facing Austim has been in the news ' recently and I guess it is a big topic among parents there, I read few articles of the subject and tried to get my self fimiliar with the Austim, anyway this what I understood from few medical journals I read and I was wondering if y'all could give me a run down on the whole thing.
Do you believe the MMR vaccination causes Autism?
Do you think any or any mix of vaccines has anything to do with Autism?
What do you think causes Autism if not vaccines?
Recently, there was an article stating that the report from 22 years ago suggesting a link between Autism and the MMR vaccination was not really properly looked in to and has been retracted. Too many people have been staying away from the vaccines and now the measles are making a come-back. Since the more recent studies are proving over and over again that the MMR vaccine itself is not the cause of Autism, there is still much speculation on how accurate those tests are and why was it suggested earlier that it was? So much is still not known about Autism, so many people just want to find the answer to what is the cause in order to protect their children.
My input: I still think vaccines are very important. Giving them to our children not only protects them from these many diseases, it protects us. Children contract the disease, they can pass that on to those living at their home and then it spreads from there. If they are protected, they do not get the disease and therefore protecting those they come in contact with. By stopping the disease from spreading, eventually the disease will cease to exist. That's why smallpox is dead now. No one has it because the vaccination for it did what it's built to do. Polio is on it's way out.
the disease to cause havoc in the body. The MMR vaccine can cause a high fever and often that's enough to push the disease forward. There's been speculation that just enough extra mercury can cause the blood condition in the body that causes Autism to also come alive. The blood condition is a word I don't remember but I think it starts with a 'K' and cannot be discovered/pre-screened before the symptoms of Autism show up. There are still so much to learn about the cause of Autism. It's a scary thing to face if your child has it and you just want to know why. I am suspicious about the vaccines, but I'm not convinced of their role in the cause of Autism.
