What are the origins of the berbers

They are a mixture between:

Ancestral North Africans: basically the first and longest inhabitants of North Africa.

Early Neolithic Levantines: first farmers who migrated westwards into North Africa.

Late Neolithic Iberians of Anatolian origin (not European).

So: North Africa, the Levant, and Ancient pre-Turkic Anatolia.

Could you do a similar break down of Somali ancestry?

Interesting, so what is Palaeolithic Somali? Isn't Somali just an ethnic group?

The people who lived in Somalia before the Cushites arrived there basically. The Nilo-Saharan autosomal affinity in Somalis is not from Somalia either, but from Sudan and was brought there with the Cushites. I think the Cushitic language family originated in North Sudan. This Paleo-Somali component is no more than 10-12% in Somalis and largely restricted to maternal geneflow (some rare L mtDNAs) that aren't found outside of the Horn region.

Interesting. So are these "Palaeolithic Somalis" the small hunter-gatherer tribes that ancient Cushites ended up replacing in the Horn?

Is this genetic marker present in other Horners?

According to history (as varying as egyptian, greek, roman , classical arab histories, and tuareg origin stories recorded by colonialists) they're amelekites from Canaan, who were driven away by mozaikiya and joshua bin nun. They along with their leaders hercules and afer conquered egypt for a period of 200-400 years known as the hyksos/ sheperherd king dynasty. From there they went on to conquer north africa naming it ifriqiya after afer( one of the generals)

I will expound I'A

1881 “ A third body of the Cushites went to the north of the Egypt and founded, on the east of the Delta, the kingdom of the so-called Hyksos , whom tradition designated sometimes as Phoenicians sometimes as Arabians, and in both cases rightly…Lepsius has proved by excellent reasons the Cushite origins of the Hyksos statues from San (Tanis) now in the museum of Boulaq and has made more than merely probable the immigration of the Cushites into the region of the Delta…” p. 402 Heinrich Karl Brugsh in A History of Egypt Under the Pharaohs Derived Entirely from the Monuments, published by John Murray 1881, Vol 2, 2nd edition.

The assemblies by alhariri of the 11th c AD states that amr muzaikiya(highly venerated yemeni legend) along with amran his brother(his father in the bible) brought a people called azd to the hijaz from ma'rib.

Almas'udi records this legend similarly: amran a diviner indicated the dam of marib would burst and so amr muzaikiya and his followers went to the land of the Akk, seacoast of northern yemen... here they established themselves at a pool named ghassan, from which they took theit name, and here amr died.

Albaladhuri records the same: musaikiya, amr bin amir ibn amrulkais ibn yarub ibn kahlan... together with the azd started to the land of Akk... the azd had settled near a spring called Ghassan hence their name Ghassan. The azd finally arrived in mecca which was populated with the jurhum tribe, they made there to be the Batn of mar

Ibn ishaq says: the azd tribes led by amr muzaikiya's descendants settled between jiddah and mecca in marr al-zahran, and were callrd khaz'a or banu khuz'a. It is they who drove out the tribe of jurhum.

Abu al-faraj says in his kitab alaghani: allah broke the dam of arim in marib.. azd shanuah settled in sarat... Azd khuza settled in batn marr.. aws and khazraj settled in yathtib(medina)

Ibn kathir says:amr muzaikiya led the tribe of lukham from saba' against the tribe of Akk

Singer and adler in their jewish encyclopedia a descriptive record of history quote ibn ishaq"moses fought against the giants of jericho.. those who survived were led by ifrikish ibn kais to africa. The berbers are their descendants"

Rehatson says- yamamah at the time of Luqman was settled by the descrndants of tasm and amlyk, aswell as jadis. amlyk also dwelt in Meccah

Herodotus stated that phoenicians originate from the erythrean sea

Asma'i 9th c-"khuza robbed jurhum of mecca, aws and khazraj took medina, mundhir seized Iraq, Banu Jafnah seized syria.. the progeny of Imran ibn 'amr ibn 'amir took oman."

Ibn khaldun says-"the berbers are cananites sons of ham, their grandfather was named mazi"

The Berber ethnogensis predates written history. :snoop:

Also, not everything written in a book is true. Like you have Darods claiming to be Yemenites when they clearly are local Horners.

Once again you look foolish, spouting about unsourced. SHOW YOUR SOURCES!

My knowledge on this is based on peer-reviewed genetics papers and linguistic studies. It is also the mainstream view while your shit is some retarded bullshit. Berbers do not even genetically cluster with Phoenicians. There are both ancient DNA samples from the Maghreb and Canaan. You are propagating lies again.
