It's honestly sad to see that the common Southern and Northern not realize that they have more in common than their qabil politicians. 30 years and neither have anything to show for it other than our lands being auctioned off bit by bit.

I often think about the wise men of SYL. Had they made a strong one party system focused on industrialization and education they could've burned the concept of qabilism out. But focusing on what could've been will do us no good. We need to unite now more than ever.

I think the way to go is to encourage somalinimo, not patriotism to a flag or qabil. Or wait for the odeys who have started their career during Barre times to die off like flies then import diaspora large-scale back into somalia and land. Or wait for some powerful charismatic leader. I plan on becoming a public speaker or somebody proficient at oratory and when I fight to get to a public stage I shall use my brilliant mastery of language to kill qabil and instill common Somali values as best as I can, this is my goal and dream inshallah.

We were once the land of poets. We use to rely on oral traditions and poets were some of the most accomplished among us. While STEM is great we can not build a nation with nothing but doctors and engineers. We need people like you to flesh out what it means to be Somali, to bring that feel to all.

Our only hope is the next generation. We must install a fire of nationalism centered on Somalinimo. Teach them that Isaaq, Hawiye or Darood will do nothing for them because they are long dead. However Somali is alive and only through unity we can stand.

We need to also stop listening to these old men. It is true that in deen we must respect and lover our elders but we should not throw our live and the lives of our fellow Somalis for their petty ambitions. I don't care if my clan elder desperately wants a new patch of land, he can get up and fight for it himself.

It was the net support needed to suport each other during the war you cant break it with just words and "somalinimo" you have to break it with a loyal group of intellectuals from across the world who work together to better the lives of the people.... now they should be free of qabiil to the root.

These loyal groups can then slowly implement reforms and better the living standards reducing dependance on qabiil.

Qabil is necessary but not in the way it’s being used now.

Only pure Somali qabils with paternal and MATERNAL Somali heritage should have influence. Somali allied qabils should be respected but for too long certain qabils with foreign ancestry have cosplayed as Somali for way too long.
