Qabiil not only serves ZERO purpose in Somali society today, it handicaps us from making any kind of progress.
We all fucked up in the 90s and the 2000s, and no qabiil was sane. Everybody killed everybody so in reality, there's no reason for any qabiil to be keeping so much cuqdad in their hearts.

Qabiil will be death of Somalia and the Somali people if they don't drop that shit right now!

Our only hope is the next generation. We must install a fire of nationalism centered on Somalinimo. Teach them that Isaaq, Hawiye or Darood will do nothing for them because they are long dead. However Somali is alive and only through unity we can stand.

We need to also stop listening to these old men. It is true that in deen we must respect and lover our elders but we should not throw our live and the lives of our fellow Somalis for their petty ambitions. I don't care if my clan elder desperately wants a new patch of land, he can get up and fight for it himself.

I honestly worry for the next generation, especially those back home because they're fed this bullshit. No man is born hating Darood or Isaaq or Hawiye but it's beaten into these kids at such a young age by people who should be making a better example for them.

I hate qabilayad too but the reality is that its here to stay because its far too ingrained into Somali society for people to simply drop it. The 4.5 system alone is proof of that. Who will enforce your anti-qabil laws? No one will support that since it might undermine their own clan.

The best way to get rid of qabil is have a strong central government that provides to the needs of the people to the point that clan elders will no longer have any support. Reconciliation between clans is also important. Justice needs to be served for the victims of qabil based crimes

As long as our enemies have a large economic and security advantage we will be easy to divide, Qabil is a symptom of decentralized power and 30 years of lawlessness + lack of economic oppurtunity. It makes sense that people will rely on clans in such a situation. The best thing you can do is get educated and promote Somali controlled investment's back home.

A growing and developing economy will...

-Allow people to rely on other non-clan structures and institutions.

-Promote migration into urban centers for opportunity, creating a mixed population in terms of clan disposition. Reducing hate.

- Strengthen property and financial laws as people seek to safeguard investments, this also helps sellers as customers are reassured.

- All of the above will lessen mass emigration from the country.

- Allow for sustainable investments in the military.

Everything springs out of the economy, as long as that foundation is secured and thriving we can prosper. Our northern brothers and sisters will rejoin a prosperous Somalia in the future not by force but by choice inshallah, blood is thicker than water.

I think the main reason for somalilander patriotism were the atrocities, but I think they could easily forgive if southerners could accept somaliland as a sovereign nation. And also is most southerns denounced barre as what he was, an atheist that caused the collapse of somalinimo and hatred between north and south.
