The evolving of somnet Basra....
Postby Basra- » Thu Aug 24, 2017 5:53 pm
I remember 2 decades ago--I came to somnet with such profound naiveté! I mean, its all chronicled here in somnet. I mean, I am a study, wrapped in a thesis, wrapped in a study case itself. Those toddlers days, I would come to somnet, and read forum veterans debate heavy subjects like economy, religions, and politics. I would look at them with a phased sense of cluelessness, and move on to my passion. Literature. From Elizabethan literature, to the Regent England, to Victorian era. Later, with the advent, and online expansion, the rise of Wikipedia, YouTube, and an endless litany of virtual information wrapped in virtual essays, articles, studies etc etc , I find myself -abandoning my cozy, paper back books for key board strokes instead. I was engrossed. I learned, and learned, and learned. Now, literature becomes a figment of my past & childhood imagination. My interests have evolved, and become intensely transformed in a higher stratosphere. My favorite subject now is Politics, Economy, and Religion.
Are you PROUD of your former toddler somnet Legendress----transitioning to this fabulous Wise Muslimah slash Intellectual Wizard-dress? Duchess Basra? https://www.somnet.com/forums/images/smilies/eating good.gif

If am an ayeeyo, it will make me late 40s, 50s & 60s.,...... Mama still looks like Halle Berry lol
So we’re just gonna skip over the fact that cadaans are studying our psychology online?!
How old were you when you came to the states
And using Basra of all people as their lab rat the author of the study probably concluded that Somalis are crazy as f*ck
How big was the somali population here when you arrivedI was 9 when i came to the states, but i didnt know proper English until i was 14. When i was 13 i discovered the classic author Jane Austen. She is to blame for my strong command of English. All Somali fathers out there, get your daughter Jane Austen literature if u want them to be smart lol age 13 onwards

From your honest perspective what percentage of Somalis do you think raised her have actually turned out well. Have a nice job with a degreeIt was a small size. We were unknown. Winter was terrible. 20 inches every day. Today 20 inches snow is rare! U can go days without seeing a somali. today, when u drive, your left side is a somali front somali and back somali. u go to the grocery the cashier is somalis. u go to public restroom in shiny glamorous Mall of America, u see Somali language instructions not to throw paper towel in the toilet. U take the train, spanish, mong & somali are language saying welcome to Minnesota. Now am thinking to move to Austria

I underestimated the amount. Cause I got older and realized I have two uncles that are teachers, an aunt that’s a nurse an uncle that’s an accountant(some of these are cousins of my parents but they are the closest I had to uncles so I’m including them)I think alot. Honestly. Especially Somalis girls. And of course somali gays. Lots of them with degrees. Right Rkelly>?
Halle Berry?Jerome
